It is that time of the year again! This year’s theme for the PTA Reflections Program is “The World would be a better place if...”

This is a wonderful program that encourages your child's artistic side! Last year, we had some entries advance to the regional level and even State! Encourage your students to enter projects in six different categories:

  • Dance choreography
  • Film production
  • Literature
  • Musical composition
  • Photography
  • Visual arts

For more details, view the following files:

Please check the Illinois PTA website's Programs tab, for detailed rules on each category. Entries that do not meet the criteria cannot be advanced to the district. Remember all projects must relate to the theme.

Contact Tara Devarajan (847-800-8012 or tharinid@gmail.com) OR Nafisa Husain(630-340-0534 or nafisa@studionafisa.com) for more information.

All projects are due by Tuesday, September 30. They can be turned in to the office or directly to Tara Devarajan or Nafisa Husain.  Please call ahead to arrange a drop off time.

We also invite the students to participate in a theme search contest, for deciding the 2016-17 theme for Reflections. Students with the winning entry will receive $100. Deadline for submission is October 15th.

Looking forward to some amazing projects & creativity from our Steck Eagles!

At Reba O. Steck Elementary School, we have been implementing a school-wide Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports System (PBIS) called Steck's Eagle I's of Excellence.  PBIS is designed to teach students pro-social skills and to support behaviors consistent with a positive and safe learning environment.  Our students are working on exemplary behavior in our Eagle I's: I will be… respectful, responsible, ready, and safe.

Within our Eagle I program, we reward students, teachers and staff for displaying positive behaviors that reflect a dedication to the Eagle I's.  Students that follow our Eagle I’s are recognized with Eagle Bucks where they can purchase raffle tickets for prizes or buy rewards from our reward cart.  Other ways we reward students include positive referrals, good news notes, celebrations in class, and by hosting school-wide assemblies.  We are dedicated to the students and their success at Reba O. Steck.
